In honor of Veteran’s Day, join us for a powerful program featuring the Lancaster Vet Center and Arconic, a local manufacturer that frequently engages with veterans for employment. Learn how the Vet Center connects veterans to vital resources and benefits, and how Arconic has built meaningful programs to celebrate and support their veteran workforce. Through real-world examples, interactive activities, and practical takeaways, discover new ways to honor veterans in the workplace and strengthen an organization’s culture of support. Speaker Biographies:
Christopher Burchett serves as the Veteran Outreach Program Specialist at the Lancaster Vet Center, part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Readjustment Counseling Services. In this role, he leads community engagement initiatives, educates partners on Vet Center eligibility, and connects veterans and their families with vital resources.
Prior to joining the Vet Center, Christopher worked as a certified Peer Support Specialist at the Lebanon VA Medical Center’s Domiciliary Program, walking alongside veterans on their healing journeys. He also brings the perspective of lived service: as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman, supporting combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division.
Megan Barley, SHRM-SCP, is a Human Resources professional with over 12 years of Human Resources experience. She has held various HR roles with multiple employers including Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Palace Entertainment, and Arconic. Currently, she supports the Casting, Hot Rolling and Plate Mill departments as their Human Resources Business Partner at the Lancaster aluminum rolling mill. She also spent 6 years working in operational roles for Palace Entertainment and an additional 6 years of entrepreneurship with her wholesale craft business, Barley & Company. Megan graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, crafting, and supporting local non-profits.
