Spring Legal Update

Program Overview
To represent the needs of their organizations and its employees, HR professionals need to keep up-to-date with changes in employment law and relevant court rulings. This program will address recent developments in employment and labor law and provide compliance guidance to attendees. As a result of this program, attendees will be able to understand the key provisions of new regulations and laws, learn how these changes could impact their companies, hear about “front burner” employment law items with the current administration and congressional agenda, and review recent court decisions that every HR professional should know about.

Eric Athey, Esq.
McNees, Wallace and Nurick
Eric co-chairs the Labor and Employment Group of McNees, Wallace, and Nurick in Lancaster, PA. He provides counseling and representation to employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including compliance assistance with laws such as the Affordable Care Act, FMLA, ADA, OSHA and wage and hour laws. Eric routinely helps unionized and non-union clients navigate difficult situations involving allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as labor negotiations and arbitrations, employment contracts, and employment policy development. Eric represents private and public sector employers before state and federal courts, arbitrators and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Wage and Hour Division.

Eric holds an MS in Labor Relations and graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He is a frequent lecturer on employment and labor legal topics.
