Topic: Job Performance: The Employer Connection
HR professionals are often in the position of counseling managers when an employee’s job performance is lower than expected. But they need to know what questions to ask in order to provide the best advice. This presentation, based on Thomas Gilbert’s Behavior Engineering Model (BEM), provides a framework for HR professionals to analyze the key elements of job performance and offer sound advice to managers.
As a result of this program, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify the six aspects of behavior that must be present to achieve optimal performance
2. Communicate with managers to advise on appropriate questions to consider when evaluating job performance
3. Evaluate the difference between current and goal states to provide solution feedback
4. Support an organizational culture that promotes the collection and incorporation of data into decision making
