Our History

Lancaster SHRM was originally formed in 1963 as the Personnel Association. Throughout the history, the organization has also been called the Lancaster County Association for Human Resource Management (LCAHRM). LCAHRM became Lancaster SHRM in 2013.

The purpose of the organization is to provide a formal opportunity for professionals in the Human Resource filed to assemble and exchange information of mutual interest; provide the opportunity to be proactive in issues and matters of mutual interest; educate, enhance and reinforce the professionalism of its members; increase employer and non-member recognition of the significant roles and responsibilities of Human Resource Professionals.

Lancaster SHRM is affiliated with Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
